Mission Statement

The rationale behind the initiative for establishment of national association of managers in Serbia was that the country had no suitable, independent, and professional association that would be committed to the continuous development of professional staff in the field of corporate governance and articulating and expressing social interests of managers and executives. At the times of major political and social changes - which mainly concern the economic system and affect business community - it becomes inevitable to, following the model of other countries in Europe, the republics of former Yugoslavia included, create such a professional association.

The mission of the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) is to promote the interests of the profession by establishing the codes of ethics and professional conduct, as well as defining the social impact of the members of the community of experts involved in corporate governance in the Republic of Serbia.

Within its social activity, the Serbian Association of Managers will advocate such legislative approaches which facilitate more efficacious business practices and strengthen the competitiveness of Serbian companies, on both local and foreign market.

Legal status of the SAM: non-profit, non-party, and non-government organisation that is created based on membership.

The objective of the SAM is to become a representative association and one of the Government of Serbia's social partners in the processes of regulating the issues relevant for improvement of business environment and economic development, and to legitimately represent the community of the Republic of Serbia managers bilaterally, in the contacts with similar national associations in other countries, and in front of the institutions established at the European and global level. The SAM intends to particularly foster the bilateral and multilateral cooperation with similar associations in the region of Western Balkans, Central Europe, and EU. In conjunction with its partners, the SAM will work on improving human performance (through business schools, in the country and abroad) and on creating the environment conducive to continuous occupational education of its members and development of younger generation of managers.
